Two Different Last Photos

If a picture paints a thousand words
Then why can't I paint you
The word will never show
The you I've come to know....

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009, we went to Target to go shopping. Heather was not able to walk around the store and breath at the same time. We asked her if she wanted the motorized cart. She said no way...I am not riding in that..you think I am on chemo or something. So, at the age of 21 she climbed into the cart just like she would when she was little. It was quite a moment to push her around in the cart. We headed to the baby isle to get some things for Pea. Heather loved the baby socks at the end cap. I had no idea that less than 24 hours later Heather would be admitted to Banner Baywood Hospital for the last time. This would be our last smiling photo together.Monday, April 20th, 2009, I brought the Grand Duchess Heather's ball gown to the hospital. I placed it on top of her along with her tiara. I then placed her favorite blanket and Edison close to her as well. I leaned over her to stroke her hair and tell her that she was the most beautiful princess in the entire world. I told her she had her ball gown and tiara on so everyone that passed by her room would know that royalty was there. I had no idea this photo was taken. This is the last photo ever taken of me with my Dolly Girl Heather.

It's A World of Laughter....

Its a world of laughter, a world of tears
It's a world of hopes and a world of fears
There's so much that we share that its time we're aware

It's a small world afterall..

There is just one moon and one golden sun

And a smile means friendship for everyone
Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide

It's a small world afterall...The center point of Disneyland. Just past the castle in Fantasyland

Heather loved Disneyland. Everything about it. No matter how many times she went it was always like a new adventure every time. She loved the parade and fireworks show no matter how many times she had seen them. Her all time favorite was the Electric Light Parade. Heather once saw a TV show about interesting facts about Disneyland and thing to find when you are there. She was so proud when she was able to find the center point of Disneyland.

In 2006, Heather decided to get her photo with every Disney Princess. It was a long pain staking or stalking process. She made friends with "Bob" the main guide for the princesses. He actually gave her the times and places that the princesses would be. At the time it seemed like we wasted a whole day. Now..Would not trade it for the world. Heather's favorite movie growing up was Beauty and the Beast. She loved Belle. Heather never outgrew her love for Belle. She just saw herself more as Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. But heather made sure she got a picture with Belle. Heather commented that she was glad to see that the same gal that dressed as Belle had been there for at least 2 years in a row. Heather had the biggest joke putting the photo of her and "Bob on her MySpace page. Everyone was asking her who her new boyfriend was. She told them his name is Bob and he works at Disneyland. That is how they met. Which is all true. She just thought it so funny that as soon as she put up a photo of a guy...everyone assumed it was a boyfriend. Heather loved to do that to people.

Suds In The Bucket...

She was in the backyard-they say it was a little past nine
When her prince pulled up-a white pickup truck
Her folks shoulda seen it comin'-it was only a matter of time

Plenty old enough-and you can't stop love

She stuck a note on the screen door-"sorry but I got to go"

That was all she wrote-her mama's heart was broke

That was all she wrote-so the story goes....

...Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of a eye

She left the suds in the bucket

And the clothes hangin' out on the line....

For several years our family made a trip to Disneyland in California each Spring Break. It actually was a tradition with Rose and her sons, Steven and Ricky. Rose showed us all the ropes on where the best place to stay is and how to do Disney. We went with Rose and Steven for several Spring Breaks and still met up with Rose for Heather's 21st birthday and then again this past August. In March 2006, we made our usual trip to Disneyland. We usually spend one day in Disneyland and then one day in California Disney. It was a little chilly on the day we were at California Disney. For those of you who have never been, there is a water ride there called Grizzly River Run. Even though we did not ride this we walked through Grizzly Country. They happen to have a Hillbilly Show where they pick people, usually kids and teens, to play washboards and all kinds of unique things. They give you hillbilly hats and everything.

As you can guess our lil Miss Priss was chosen to come play the washboard. She had a great time and was so happy to be chosen. All she could take about for m any days was how fun that was and she had never been picked for anything like that. Heather loved that fact that she was "part" of Disneyland for a moment. She wanted to work at Disne y. She really wanted to be Aurora-Sleeping Beauty. She even said she had her own blond hair so she would not have to wear the wig. The biggest thing that Heather wanted was to be married at Disneyland. Ride in Cinderella's carriage and get married right in front of the castle.
